The Sk8r Boi project is built in collaboration with the Cal Poly WISH club.

Sk8r Boi is a 3D-printed skateboard controlled by an Arduino through Bluetooth communication. A mobile phone application sends ASCII characters to the Arduino, and based on those ASCII characters the Arduino is able to drive 4 DC motors forward, left, right, backward, and stop. The goal of this project was to offer an introduction to microcontrollers, Bluetooth communication, and 3D printing. During the winter quarter of 2020 Sk8r Boi is going to enter a research phase to see what the next steps are for the project. Our goal is to take this model and make it a full-scale skateboard.
